Is Common Core Right for the US Educational System?

Before going on with a discussion of the pros/cons of Common Core State Standards Initiative, readers should visit
http://www.corestandards.org/

Once you have read the information on that site, please go to the following links,  reading the articles and then voice your opinion on  Common Core.  Will it better the US educational system or harm it?

The above three links provide a strong argument against Common Core.  Certainly, one might get the feeling the "States" that have signed on to the 'Initiative' put money over their obligations to ensure children in their respective state receive an education based on local demographic and economic conditions.

Under "Common Core", will children come to know the difference between what the 'United States of America' stands for, as opposed to the 'totalitarianism' that is eroding the very fabric of the US Constitution and the freedoms it guarantees?
