Fords Cup Hockey Tournament Raised Over $300 for the Nikolai Ruck Fund

The bi-annual roller hockey tournament is still collecting donations for the winning captain's choice of charity.

It was a beautiful - albeit warm - day for a little roller hockey, and was decided at the end of three games, with Fu Manchu defeating the Jersey Lumberjacks by a score of 7-4.

Local hockey players chipped in $10 each to participate in the four-team, two-round tournament on Saturday.Β  The winning team's captain, Chris Frolich, chose to donate the collected money to the Nikolai Ruck fund, set up to help offset the medical bills of Ruck, who was severely injured in a car accident last fall.

Over $300 was raised Saturday afternoon, with more to come now that a definitive charity has been selected, said Rob Cacioppo, who runs the bi-annual tournament.
