Eric LeGrand Tweets He's 'Standing Tall' - And He's Got the Proof

The injured Rutgers football player and Avenel resident tweets pix of him standing, with a little help (link inside!)

Eric LeGrand, the Rutgers football player paralyzed in a game last year, has been working hard to get back on his feet.

Early this morning, he tweeted the proof: pictures of him standing next to his mother. Granted, LeGrand was in a mechanical device when he was standing, but by the beaming smile on his face, it's obvious the popular Avenel resident is thrilled at the gains he's been making.

"Standing tall, we can't fall," LeGrand tweeted, with a link to pictures of him standing in the mechanical gizmo, with Karen LeGrand, his mother. "Standing upright again," he added.

LeGrand got a huge amount of support from his thousands of Twitter supporters. "Shout out to all of the people out there that believe, all of you inspire me to keep going and fighting every day," he added to his previous tweets.

At a local sports memorabilia fundraiser last month in Woodbridge, LeGrand said he was working hard in therapy and regaining feeling in his limbs. He's returned to Rutgers and is taking summer classes, he said.
