Pet stores are making headlines for selling sick and dying animals, or for keeping puppies and kittens in unsanitary conditions that amount to pet abuse.Β

Two Ocean County legislators have introduced the "Healthy Puppies and Kittens Assurance Act," which would require strict regulations on monitoring the health of animals sold in pet stores.
