Last Chance: Kyrillos at County Tea Party Candidates Meet Tonight

State Senator Joe Kyrillos, and Republican contenders for the 6th and 12th congressional districts will be in Sayreville tonight.


County voters will get a chance to hear Republican candidates for Congress and the U.S. Senate tonight, at a rally in Sayreville.

and Congressional candidates Eric Beck and Ernesto Cullari will be at the Peter Pank Diner on Route 9 at 7 pm. Admission is free.

The event will give voters the opportunity to meet the three candidates, hear a short presentation from each and pose questions, said Tea Party spokesman Gary Charwin.

Kyrillos is looking for the Republican nod to run against current U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D). Kyrillos has served as a state senator since 1992 and as chairman of Chris Christie’s gubernatorial campaign.

Eric Beck is new to the political scene and is looking to challenge Rush Holt (D) in New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District. Eric Beck is a South Brunswick small business owner and former state director of the Concord Coalition, a group dedicated to eliminating federal deficits and instituting sound fiscal policy.

For Woodbridge resients, Ernesto Cullari is a newcomer of particular interest. He will be running for a spot on the Republican ticket to take on Congressman Frank Pallone (D) in the 6th District.Β Cullari is an orthopedic medical professional and a published Disney songwriter.

Woodbridge will be pushed into the 6th District because of census redistricting.

In February, the Tea Party held its first candidates night, which featured Anna Little, who came close to defeating Pallone in 2010 and is looking to challenge him again in 2012. Joe Rullo, also appeared. He is also looking to run against Menendez for his senate seat.

The Tea Party of Middlesex County holds meetings on the first Thursday of every month at the Peter Pank Diner.
