The 2010 congressional campaign of Little, the former mayor of Highlands, sparked some interest because Little was one of the Tea Party candidates in the state. She lost to Pallone's $4 million war chest by 11 points in a race that was a lot tighter than 12-term incumbent Pallone had previously faced.

Little also won Monmouth County, Pallone's home turf. She has promised a rematch next year in news articles.
