Three Firefighters Injured as Blaze Destroys Iselin Home

The firefighters suffered minor injuries during the Saturday incident, which remains under investigation.

A fire destroyed an Iselin on Harding Avenue Saturday afternoon, leaving three firefighters injured, according to reports.

The firefighters suffered minor injuries as they continued to battle the blaze, which began in the rear of the single family home that is now left uninhabitable, NJ Firefighting reported.Β The three firefighters were transported to the hospital.

Firefighters responded to the scene at roughly 2:25 p.m. and had the fire extinguished by 3:40. The occupants of the home were safely evacuated, according to Police Capt. Roy Hoppock.

Departments from Avenel, Fords, Hopelawn, Keasbey and Woodbridge provided mutual aid at the scene, while departments from Metuchen and South Plainfield provided coverage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.Β
