Robbers Grab $3,600 in Fords Home B&E

A homeowner in the Fords section of Woodbridge came back from work last Tuesday to an unpleasant surprise.

When he left his South 4th Street home for work early last Tuesday, a Fords homeowner had a neat home and thousands of dollars in possessions safely tucked away.

He came back home to a big footprint planted on the home's side door - and to more than $3,600 in his possessions missing in an apparent burglary.

said the homeowner had left his residence around 8:30 am on July 24. When he returned home from work, the side door to the house had apparently been kicked in so hard there was a footprint on the door itself and damage to the door frame.

The burglars had snatched a laptop computer from the living room, then ransacked the bedroom. A green pillowcase was taken from the bed to hold the loot, which included a gold and diamond ring, valued at $1,000, a $500 Bulova watch, and $1,600 in cash.

A 6-inch black boot knife in its sheaf was also stolen.

No suspects have been apprehended at this time.
