Fords Man Arrested for Gun Possession in Bridgewater Parking Lot

A township man allegedly was in possession of a shotgun without a permit, and driving with a revoked license on Saturday.

A Fords man was arrested Saturday after police found him with a shotgun in a Bridgewater shopping center parking lot.

According to a report on mycentraljersey.com, Todd Rebeck, 41, of Fords, was charged with with possession of a shotgun without a permit, driving on the revoked list following a drunken-driving conviction, violating a final restraining order and possession of a firearm following an aggravated assault conviction.

He was arrested at 2:40 a.m. Saturday while his car sat in the parking lot of the Somerset Shopping Center in Bridgewater, according to the report.

According to the report, Rebeck had a revoked driver's license due to drunk driving convictions, nor was he permitted to possess a firearm. He also had "numerous" warrants out for his arrest, the report said.

Rebeck told authorities that the shotgun belonged to his father, according to the report.
