Car Fire Ignites After Main Street Accident

The crash occurred Saturday across from Woodbridge Bowling Alley.

A two-car crash occurred on Saturday across from the Woodbridge Bowling Alley on Main Street leading one car to catch on fire, officials said.

The accident happened at approximately 5:10 p.m. when a vehicle traveling West turned left for the Rt. 9 South ramp in front of a car traveling East straight through the light, Woodbridge Police Capt. Roy Hoppock said.Β 

Following impact, one of the vehicles caught on fire and the Woodbridge Fire Department responded to the scene, Hoppock added.

The 51-year-old female driver from Fords and passenger of the vehicle that ignited complained of pain and were taken to JFK Hospital. The driver of the second vehicle, a 54-year-old female from Carteret, was taken to Raritan Bay Medical Center, according to Hoppock.

No summonses were issued for the accident.
