Santiago Torres, 78 of Iselin passed away Saturday, May 5, at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy.
Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, he lived in for many years. Retiring in 1998, he was employed by the Perth Amboy Board of Education as a custodian for ten years. He was a longtime Little League coach for the city of Perth Amboy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Maria (Gutierrez) Torres; a son Frank E. Torres, and his wife, Sindy, of Freehold; a daughter, Ivette Torres of Avenel; a sister, Justina Diaz of the Bronx; and four grandchildren: Matthew Miranda, Noah Miranda, Joshua Torres, and Jeremy Torres.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Thursday, at the Gerity & Chubenko Funeral Home, 411 Amboy Avenue in Woodbridge, followed by entombment at Alpine Cemetery in Perth Amboy.
