Obituary: Joseph H. Messina, 61, Sewaren
A member of the Hog Motorcycle Club of Rahway, Messina died in a motorcycle accident on Memorial Day.
, 61, of Sewaren died on Monday, May 28.
Born in Perth Amboy, he had resided in Iselin and Carteret before moving to Sewaren 15 years ago.
He had been an auto mechanic at in Woodbridge. Joe was a member of The Hog Motorcycle Club of Rahway and enjoyed fishing and cooking.

Joseph is predeceased by his parents Charles and Sonia Messina. He is survived by his daughter. Dawn Van Orden and her husband, Eric; daughter, Nicole Messina; brothers Michael, Dean, Charlie, and Paul; sisters, Jacqueline Bednar and Sandra Coffey; and three grandchildren, Eric Jr., Justine, and Anthony; his former wife, Sheila Messina Smith; his companion of several years, Linda Samsel; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the at 1225 Green Street and Cooper Avenue in Iselin on Friday, June 1, from 5 pm to 8 pm and Saturday, June 2, from 2 pm to 6 pm, with a service at 5:30 pm.
