Celebrate the Season with a 'Rockin' Holiday' Tonight

UCPAC is holding a great nostalgia musical series tonight at 8 pm. Tickets are still available.

Traditional Christmas songs are nice, but sometimes you just need a little musical nostalgia to put you in the holiday spirit. That's what you'll get tonight at the Union County Performing Arts Center, which will be holding a 'rockin' Holiday Celebration' to toast the season. Musical idols of the 1950s and 1960s Bobby Rydell, The Chantels and Jay Siegel of The Tokens will be on hand for a rock-laced concert tonight at 8 pm.

The event takes place at the Union County Performing Arts Center at 1601 Irving Street in Rahway. Tickets are still available, and prices start at $38.

Rydell, a popular 1960s teen idol with decades in show business, will be singing some of his tunes: "Wild One," "Forget Him," and a Jersey-based hit, "Wildwood Days". Β

Rydell will be accompanied by other greats, such as Jay Siegel, known best for his hit "The Lion Sleeps Tonight." Another terrific singing group, The Chantels, will also be on hand to belt out some of their greatest hits. The Chantels were one of the first African American female singing groups to gain huge success in the U.S.
