Who is Responsible for Cleaning Up Campaign Signs?

Who is responsible for cleaning up campaign signs left around town?

Election season is coming to an end, but around Woodbridge, campaign signs will continue to be seen on lawns and public areas, at least throughout the week.

Who is responsible for cleaning up those signs?

According to municipal clerk John Mitch, the township mandates that signs must be removed within seven days of the election.

Signs posted on public throughways are not permitted, and are removed and destroyed, said township spokesman John Hagerty.

As for signs that are abandoned or forgotten, Mitch said the township sends a courteous reminder to the campaign to which they belong, reminding them of the deadline to remove them.
