Council, BOE Incumbents Returned to Seats in Woodbridge

Woodbridge voters kept incumbent Democratic candidates in their seats in Tuesday's election. 

Democrat newcomer Nancy J. Drumm was elected to the Ward 1 council seat, with 2,415 votes. Republican opponent John Vrtaric received 1,642 votes.

Incumbent Democrats Richard Dalina, James Major and Michele Charmello beat out Republican challengers Margaret "Peg" LaTorre, Cathy Andreuzzi-Kovalsky and Thomas A. Sobe Jr., as well as Independent candidates Kevin J. Garcia, Sr. and Sanjeev Kapoor.

Democrat newcomer Debbie Meehan was elected unopposed to the Ward 5 council seat with 3,230 votes.

On the Board of Education, incumbent board members John Golden, Brian Small and Jonathan Treibwasser were elected to three seats, beating challengers Thomas A. Maras and Biren J. Jhaveri.
