The Power's Back On in Woodbridge

Some township residents had no electrical service Monday morning in a local power outage.

Some Woodbridge residents woke up to the lights being off this morning.

About 1,300 homeowners experienced a power outage this morning, according to PSE&G. The areas affected included Woodbridge Proper and Sewaren.

The problem was an underground cable failure, said PSE&G spokeswoman Annette Hicks. "The power was back on by 10 a.m.," she said.

Hicks said that the electric utility wasn't sure what caused the power failure, but that the cause is still under investigation.
