Big Lots Promises Big Deals
The new store is located at 471 Green St., in the Woodbridge Crossing shopping center.
A new discount retailer opened its doors on Friday morning, promising a wide variety and low prices on merchandise.
Big Lots is now open at 471 Green St., at Woodbridge Crossing. The store is the only one in Woodbridge, with the next closest locations in Freehold and South Plainfield, said District Manager Laurie Bragaglia.
The company operates over 1,495 stores in 48 states, according to the township mayor's office.
To celebrate the opening of the store, a check from the company in the amount of $1,500 was presented to parents and teachers from Mawbey Street Elementary School.
It will be used to upgrade their technology and purchase some new laptops for the school.
"A big thank you to Big Lots," Superintendent of Schools Robert Zega said.
Bragaglia said the store is staffed by 65 people, with room to hire more employees in the future.
