New Juried Competition: Become an ARTIST OF THE MONTH

(Rahway,    NJ)     Arts Guild New Jersey announces Artist of the Month, a new juried competition open to fine artists everywhere. Twelve artists will be chosen, each to be featured on Arts Guild New Jersey's website for one month over the course of one year. The Artist of the Month website page will include several images of the artwork, statement and current exhibit resume of each selected artists.

At the conclusion of the 12 month program Arts Guild New Jersey will present an art exhibit featuring the twelve artists chosen for the first year of the Artist of the Month competition. The exhibit will be held at the Arts Guild New Jersey gallery, located at 1670 Irving Street in Rahway, NJ. The exhibit will run for approximately one month. All artworks will be offered for sale in the gallery, as well as through the Arts Guild's website, if this is acceptable to the chosen artists.  

The deadline for submitting artwork is September 30, 2012.

Interested artists can visit http://www.agnj.org to complete an entry form and upload six images of recent work. Images uploaded for the judging process should be formatted as JPEGS, saved at 72dpi and be no larger than 4 x 6 inches. There is a $10.00 entry fee which can be paid by credit card through the link on the Arts Guild's website.

Artists may alternately send a CD with six images formatted as specified above, with a statement, current resume, artist's name, address, phone number and email address. CDs should be mailed to Arts Guild NJ: 1670 Irving St. Rahway, NJ 07065.

 This program is open to ALL fine artists. Judging will be conducted by Arts Guild New Jersey Executive Director, Lawrence Cappiello as well as additional artist jurors, to be announced. All media will be considered for this exhibit, with the exception of crafts, such as jewelry, pottery and glass.   

Artist of the Month winners will be announced in November, 2012 and the program will commence on the Arts Guild's website in January, 2013. The order in which the twelve winning artists are presented does not reflect a particular rank. Winners are assigned to a month at the discretion of the judges.
