Exhibition of Art from Woodbridge Township Senior Residents

 The Barron Arts Center will host an Exhibition of Art from Woodbridge Township Senior Residents.  Woodbridge Township Senior Residents interested in art as a pastime or a profession can enter their art work in the Mayor’s 32nd Annual Senior Citizens’ Juried Art Exhibition to be held at the Barron Arts Center in Woodbridge Proper from April 30th through May 9th. The exhibition is sponsored by the Woodbridge Township Department of Health & Human Resources and the Evergreen Senior Center in Colonia, The Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission chaired by Dr. Dolores Capraro Gioffre & Mayor John E. McCormac.  The competition is open to any resident of Woodbridge Township 60 years of age or older.

The Barron Arts Center is located at 582 Rahway Avenue in Woodbridge, NJ. Gallery hours are Monday thru Friday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 2 p.m.-4 p.m. The gallery will be closed April 22nd and 24th.

The exhibition is sponsored by The Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission chaired by Dr. Dolores Capraro Gioffre and the support of the Woodbridge Township Town Council and Mayor John E. McCormac.

All artwork must be delivered to Evergreen Senior Center, 400 Inman Avenue in Colonia on Monday April 25th between 10am and 3pm or Tuesday morning April 26th between 10am-noon. For additional

Participants are encouraged to submit up to two pieces each for the show. Acceptable art work had to be from one of the following categories: oil; acrylic; watercolor; pastel; printmaking; drawings including pencil, pen & ink, chalk and charcoal; mixed media including collage; photography and sculpture.

There are two classifications both non-professional and professional and separate awards will be made in each classification.

All work is the original creation of the artist.

A reception for the artists and the public will be held at the Barron Arts Center, 582 Rahway Avenue, Woodbridge, a disabled accessible building on the closing day Monday May 9th from 5pm-7pm. The
exhibition opens on April 30th from 2-4pm and continues through May 9th. Gallery hours are: Monday through Friday 11am – 4pm and Saturday and Sunday 2-4 pm.

About the Barron Arts Center – Woodbridge Township’s Center for the Arts.  The Barron Arts Center, listed on the national Register of Historic Places, recently celebrated its 130th Anniversary. With the support of the Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission and under the direction of Cynthia Knight, the Barron Arts Center offers programming to the public free of charge.
