Easter Parade Set in Colonia

Many festive activities surrounding Easter will take place locally in April, including an Easter Bonnet Parade at Colonia Middle School on April 1. Similar to the parade set for April 7 at Parker Press Park, the Colonia parade will feature contests for best bonnet or hat. The school parade, though, is a fundraiser. Children will be admitted for $5; adults are free. Vendors are needed. There will be a $20 fee per table.

All proceeds will benefit the fund to build a gazebo in the Charlie Shaughnessy Park in Colonia in memory of Marine Cpl. Kevin Reinhard, a resident of the Colonia section of Woodbridge, who died on January 19 in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. He was 25 years old.

Face painting, a "talking fire truck," a tricky tray for adults and both the Easter Bunny and the Somerset Patriot's mascot will be in attendance.
