Woodbridge Library Hires New Assistant Director

Patty Anderson has been the director of the Clark Library for the past four years.

Clark Library Director Patty Anderson has tendered her resignation to the Library Board of Trustees, effective July 21. Dawn Jenkins will serve as interim director until the Library Board hires a new director.

Anderson has been the director for the past four years, having been a director in Somerset, Morris and Cumberland counties prior to her time in Clark. She is going to the much larger nearby Woodbridge Public Library to become the Assistant Director, working side-by-side with Director Chris Murchio.

"It has been my pleasure over the past four years to work for the citizens of Clark and get to know what a wonderful community it is," Anderson told Patch. "Everyone from the mayor and business administrator on down have been extremely supportive, but what will stand out for years to come will be the loyal and strong support of the local patrons, who really appreciate their library.  I will also miss the very talented and professional staff, who I think of as not just employees, but friends. Unfortunately, I just could not pass up this outstanding opportunity for further career development.”

When asked about her contributions over the past four years, Anderson was most proud of the 50th Anniversary Celebration, the Capital Campaign, her outreach services to the local nursing home, and the Library Strategic Plan. She feels the library is in excellent shape and is poised for even greater achievements going forward.

“Each director kind of builds upon the successes of their predecessor; in my case the building achievements of Maureen Baker Wilkinson," said Anderson. "I am feeling very confident that the new Interim Director, Dawn Jenkin, will continue this trend going forward. I wish the Board, staff and new Director all the best."
