Construction Begins at Rahway YMCA
Major renovations are underway at the Rahway branch of the Gateway Family YMCA.
A large construction project has begun at the Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch that will give the community center a total facelift.
According to a press release from The Gateway Family YMCA, the renovations will entail restoration of three floors damaged by a 1981 fire, the addition of family locker rooms, renovated locker rooms and fitness areas, a new handicap-accessible elevator, a new lobby and welcome center and a new front entrance area.
Artist’s Lofts will also provide space for artists of all walks to create and display their work to the community, according to the release.

“This is an exciting time in the history of The Gateway Family YMCA. The ability to restore the entire facility for use is a huge undertaking, and a project that leaves us with a great feeling," said Krystal Canady, CEO of The Gateway Family YMCA, in a prepared statement.
