Three People Killed in Tuesday Car Accident on Route 27

A car driven by a 15-year-old collided with another vehicle on Route 27 at the intersection of Stony Road in Edison.

Three people were killed Tuesday morning when a car driven by a 15-year-old boy collided with a vehicle on Route 27 at Stony Road in Edison.

At 12:32 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to Route 27 at Stony Road to find that a 1995 Honda Civic driven by the boy hit a 2011 Nissan Altima driven by Mohammad Zia, 46, with passenger Ali Behzad, 35, both of Edison, according to a press release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.

The 15-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:01 a.m. Authorities are not releasing the boy's name at this time, according the release.

Zia was pronounced dead at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick at 1:16 a.m. Behzad was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:01 a.m.

Autopsy results were not available at press time.
