ReplyIt was funny....The man who painted my home did a beautiful job. Then a month later he was on the front page of the Asbury Park Press as the first person indicted under the new contracter law (licensed) I had no idea.
I could've been ripped off like many of his other victims but I gave him $50.00 down. $50.00 when half finished and the balance when he finished. NEVER pay anyone up front in full. Give them the bare minimum up front.
A week after the job was completed his partner came by my home screaming that I rippd them off, left to go on vacation and never paid them. I showed him the receipt (every dime I fronted him, I made him sign for) and told him to go speak with your partner!!!t and to leave my property or I was calling the police. He was a crook with a full page ad in the yellow pages....Which means... even crooks can advertise in the yellow pages.

ReplyHopefully some lawyer out there will initiate a case against the SELFISH, MORONIC holdouts and sue them for the damage we received because they held-out. Why should my neighborhood be flooded on the mainland because the Ortley HOA owners and the Mantaloking/BayHead elitists don't care about nothing but thier views.
Come on lawyers...there's gotta be one out there who will take on this cause. Obviously the town/county and state don't have the nads to do something with real teeth.

All insurance agencies are getting a rate increase this year. I'm gonna see 10% on the overall coverage and an additional 5.8% on sewer back up. So 15.8%.....Nice. I also heard nobody wants to write new policies east of Rt 9. According to my ins. agent, we may all have to go to Lloyds of London for coverage if we are not renewed or cancelled. Lloyds will be close to 100% more then what I'm currently paying now with Cambridge.

I'm thrilled I didn't buy that sweet lagoon ranch in Green Island 20 years ago....$129K was a sweet bargin. I went inland. That ranch took lots of water, now it's in the V-zone. The house I did buy is 2 streets from the flood maps....WOOOOOHOOOOOOO
