Angela Korodan, a retired assistant superintendent, will be the temporary head of the district until a permanent replacement is found.
With the impending reassignment of John Crowe to an elementary school principal's position on December 1, that leaves an empty space at the top of the Woodbridge School District while the board engages in its superintendent search. The Board announced last week that they will be bringing a former assistant school superintendent, Angela Korodan, out of retirement to fill Crowe's superintendent spot until a permanent replacement can be found. "She'll be the interim superintendent," said Board attorney Jonathan Busch. "She was a pleasure to work with, a true professional." Korodan had once served as the district's temporary superintendent, when Crowe's predecessor, Vincent S. Smith, had left, and before Crowe was took on the superintendent …

Not many people attended the Woodbridge Board of Education debate that was lightly publicized.
The biggest thing about Monday's Board of Education debate was how few people showed up for it. In a year that has seen the school district ripped apart with resignations, suspensions, and an omnipresent cheating scandal, the debate hosted by the Presidents' Council of Woodbridge Township had almost as few fireworks as it had audience members. Three incumbents - Judy Leidner, Lawrence Miloscia, and Board Vice President Ezio Tamburello - are running for the three open seats, as are two newcomers, former district physical education teacher Peter Capitano, Sr. and political aide Daniel Harris. The selection of a new school superintendent was as hot of an issue as it got. Woodbridge School Superintendent John Crowe will be leaving his post …

The Woodbridge Board of Ed meeting is tonight at Avenel Middle School.
The search is on for a superintendent in the Woodbridge School District, and setting a date for a town-hall style forum will be on the agenda at tonight's Board of Education meeting. The BOE will be holding their regular meeting tonight at 7 pm at Avenel Middle School. They will discuss when they will hold an open meeting for the public where the details of the superintendent search committee will be reviewed. Current School Superintendent John Crowe will be leaving his job on December 1, the latest result in the school cheating scandal that has run rampant through the school district. Several teachers and principals have been suspended because of the standardized test cheating row which still isn't over. The NJ Department of Education …

John Crowe will be leaving his superintendent post, but not the Woodbridge school district.
Woodbridge Schools Superintendent John Crowe will be officially leaving his position as superintendent on December 1, but he won't be leaving Woodbridge. The superintendent, who was a former school principal before he was superintendent, will be returning to that job in the school district. The Woodbridge Board of Education announced last week at a BOE meeting that they would be opening up a search for a new superintendent for the school district. Crowe said at the meeting that he declined to reapply for his superintendent position, although the board invited him to do so. Crowe will not be leaving the district, said BOE attorney Jonathan Busch. The superintendent will "return as an elementary school principal," Busch said. So far, …

In the wake of the cheating scandals, the Woodbridge BOE is searching for a new school superintendent while Crowe wants to stay on in the district as a school principal.
The rumors were roiling all day long, and it all turned out to be true: Woodbridge Schools Superintendent John Crowe announced that he will no longer heading the township's school district in the wake of the standardized test cheating scandal that has rocked the district. Crowe made his announcement at last night's Board of Education meeting to a packed house. "The board has informed me that they will be doing a superintendent search," said Crowe, adding that the board had "graciously" informed him that he could reapply for his job. "After considering this significantly, I have decided that I will not apply," Crowe said, and some parts of the audience broke out in scattered applause to the superintendent's discomfiture. "I do this …
Woodbridge Schools Superintendent John Crowe is being replaced; will it change the culture of cheating in Woodbridge schools?
At Thursday night's Board of Education meeting, Woodbridge Schools Superintendent John Crowe said that the board members informed him they were looking for a new head for the district. This is in the wake of the standardized test cheating scandals that cost three teachers and two principals their jobs, as well as the abrupt departure of an assistant superintendent. Do you think that a new superintendent will make a difference? Should it be someone from inside the district, or an educator from far away who will a fresh and unsullied perspective? Kay Smith - YOU have got to be kidding. There is no evidence whatsoever that Dr. Crowe knew about the cheating. I have no doubt that you did tell him about it and it was investigated. However, he was obviously told by his second-in-command that there was no cheating happening. Put yourself in his shoes and imagine that a parent comes to you and says that her child was told to cheat on a state …   more ›
