Officials Reveal Identity of Robber Who Killed Himself After Failed Bank Heist

Authorities have identified Marck S. McMurry of Keansburg as the robber who tried to hold up a PNC Bank in Edison yesterday and turned the gun on himself.

County officials have determined the identity of the would-be bank robber who shot and killed himself in Edison yesterday when confronted by police. Marck S. McMurry, 47, of Keansburg was stopped from trying to hold up PNC Bank in the Tano Mall on Amboy Ave. yesterday by a guard who worked for an armored car company and who was in the bank during the attempted hold up. McMurry was brandishing a 9 mm pistol and demanded cash, said Jim O'Neill, spokesman for the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. The guard fired six shots and hit McMurry three times, in the arm, the back, and the neck. An autopsy found that none of the three wounds was fatal. Edison Robber Who Tried to Hold up Bank Commits Suicide

The armed robber of a PNC Bank on Amboy Ave. this morning killed himself when confronted by police.

The attempted armed robbery of a PNC bank branch this morning that was foiled by an armored car employee led to the shooting suicide of the robber. The robber, whose identity hasn't been determined, tried to hold up PNC Bank, located in the Tano Shopping Center on Amboy Ave near Metuchen at 10:08 am today, according to Jim O'Neill of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. An employee of an armed car company who was in the bank at the time reportedly shot and injured the gunman during the robbery attempt. No customers were in the bank at the time of the robbery.
