North Jersey Coast Line Service Resumes Service Monday

All NJ TRANSIT rail lines except one will be running on full or modified service beginning Monday.

The North Jersey Coast Line, the rail service that runs from Bay Head to Woodbridge, will resume service for next week's commute, according to a press release by Gov. Chris Christie's office.  All but one of NJ TRANSIT rail lines will be running full or modified service effective Monday, Nov. 19 Transportation Commissioner and NJ TRANSIT Board Chairman James Simpson said in a release that this is a "major milestone" in the state's recovery after the rail disruption experienced since Hurricane Sandy. “While we are not out of the woods and the recovery process continues, the restoration of this critical rail service is a major step forward for the Garden State,” he said. Stuck Bridge in the Amboys May Cause Train Delays

An open bridge between South Amboy and Perth Amboy may affect rush hour traffic today.

A train bridge stuck open between Perth Amboy and South Amboy this afternoon has been repaired,NJ Transit officials said today. The interlude when the bridge was open, though, may cause a delay in rush hour traffic on the Northeast Corridor line and the North Jersey Coast Line, where both cities are train stops on shore points to Bayhead. "There may be some residual delays," NJ Transit spokesman John Durso. Service was temporarily suspended while crews were making repairs to the bridge, Durso said. Two trains were affected, in Perth Amboy and South Amboy. NJ Transit was prepared with buses to transport passengers between those two stations, he added. Parking Costs at Area Train Station Lots

Patch takes a look at the cost and wait for a parking spot along the North Jersey Coast Line.

Which town's got the best deal on train parking? Turns out the most expensive spot on the North Jersey Coast Line around here is Lot 3 at the Hazlet station, which costs $7 daily. The cheapest would be the free deal you can grab after 11 a.m. in Matawan-Aberdeen lots.

I've lived in Aberdeen for over thirty years and long-term parking has always been a problem. There have been long lists for parking for years first of all because the price of long-term parking is ridiculously cheap.
