Golf is More Than a Game

Three elementary schools will participate in The First Tee Pilot Program during the next school year

Students at three elementary schools will get a chance to learn the game of golf. The Board of Education unanimously approved a $9,000 sponsorship grant from the Barclays Golf Event at its Dec. 16 meeting to establish The First Tee [Pilot] Program to Claremont Avenue School No. 20, Oak Ridge Heights School No. 21 and Lynn Crest School No. 22 for the next school year. The First Tee Program provides the curriculum, equipment and professional development for the schools involved at no cost to the district. Board member Brian Molnar said he was excited about the pilot program coming into the schools.
