Woodbridge FEMA Center to Close on January 5

The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center is due to shut its doors on Saturday.

If you haven't made a claim yet for Hurricane Sandy, time is running out, at least for you to do it conveniently. The Federal Emergency Managment Agency (FEMA) center which opened in the Woodbridge Health Center is scheduled to close this Saturday, January 5 at 7 pm. FEMA opened the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Woodbridge on November 30 to handle residents who had flood and rain damage from Sandy, which slammed the township at the end of October. DRCs were opened until the end of December, and their existance was once again extended to the end of January. But FEMA is now consolidating the municipal DRCs into two centers: one in Jersey City at the Hudson County Government Building at 830 Bergen Avenue, and the other in Ocean County, …

Woodbridge Victims of Sandy Have Until January 30 to Apply for Aid

Help is right in town.

Still hesitating on applying for aid to help you recover from Hurricane Sandy? You now have until January 30 to make your application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  Go to disasterassistance.gov to register, or call 800-621-3362.  Meanwhile, the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Woodbridge is still open. It's set up shop at the Woodbridge Health Center, next to the Main Library. There is a large FEMA trailer at the back of the building. Hours for the DRC are Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 7 pm. Visitors can speak to recovery specialists who can provide registration and other information and answer questions about the status of assistance applications. A New FEMA Center Offers Relief

A Disaster Recovery Center is opening in Linden and is available to Woodbridge residents who need help on claims from Hurricane Sandy

Another FEMA Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) is opening nearby to help Woodbridge and area residents who suffered losses from Hurricane Sandy. The new FEMA DRC will open 2 pm in Linden on Thursday at the Gregorio Center at 330 Helen Street. The center's hours will be from 9 am to 7 pm, seven days a week, to help Sandy victims fill out paperwork and get the help they need. Even though the DRC is right over the border in Union County, it's open to anyone in New Jersey who suffered hurricane damage.
