Luban is Mayoral Pick, Boros Replaces Diaz on the Republican Slate for the June Primary

WTRO committee members approved Susan Boros for the at-large council seat nomination; Councilman Bob Luban will head the ticket as the mayoral nominee.

Susan Boros will replace Nelson Diaz as an official candidate in the June primary for one of the at-large council seats on the Republican slate. Committee members met Monday night to vote on the Woodbridge Township Republican Organization's (WTRO) list of recommended candidates for the at-large council slots. The WTRO had initially put forward Diaz as a candidate, but the offer was rescinded by the organization.* The WTRO executive board decided to replace Diaz with Boros, and made that recommendation to committee members. Diaz, the WTRO member said, did not resign the council seat nomination of his own accord. The committee members approved Councilman Bob Luban to head the ticket by taking the Republican nomination for the mayor's seat. …

Carroll Takes Over as Council President at Reorg

The town council opened up the new year with James Carroll as its new leader

It was all about reorganizing and changes as the Township Council settled in for their first meeting of the year Tuesday night. Councilman-at-Large James Carroll was named council president at the meeting and Councilman-at-Large Gregg Ficarra was named council vice president. "Every year we have new challenges regarding income and revenue cuts," said Carroll. "Also there is a situation regarding pensions where we are losing a lot of our experienced people in town. We have to rethink the ways we are running the town." Another change that will occur with the council meetings this year is that the work session and regular meetings will be held on the same night every two weeks.
