Aficiandos of Hess toy trucks can rest assured that Christmas sales of their toy trucks will continue at the corporation's convenience stores.
Recent headlines announcing Hess Corporation's exit from the energy marketing and refining end of its global business will not affect what is perhaps its second-most-coveted consumer item after the petrol: the Hess Toy Truck. "The toy trucks which have been a tradition for 48 years will continue," a Hess spokesperson said, adding that "this November, the company will continue to sell the trucks at their stores." Since 1964, Hess Corporation has sold its classic toy trucks; offering a variety of collectible miniature trucks to consumers at the start of the holiday season each year in November. Despite the corporation's impending closure of its 1,350 retail gas stations, consumers will still be able to find the eclectic toys at Hess …

Lawns in the Woodbridge area are covered with a magical holiday snow.
No one was expecting it, but a dusting of snow Christmas Eve gave the Woodbridge area the White Christmas of song and legend. The light snow began late Monday evening, so that before midnight, at least lawns were covered with a respectable covering of the white stuff. Roads were for the most part clear, and there wasn't news of accidents from the covering. The National Weather Service had predicted a 20 percent chance of snowfall Christmas Eve. Temperatures hovered right around freezing - just enough to keep the snow as a decorative element for the holiday. The Christmas Day forecast predicts a chance of rain and snow in the early morning with no significant accumulation. The day should finish out partly sunny, with a high near 44 degrees…

It's Christmas in July at Hallmark's Ornament Club premiere, where the 2012 ornaments will go on sale starting Saturday.
Though the calendar and thermometer may say it's the dead of summer, a store in the Woodbridge Center Mall begs to differ. Behind a red curtain in the Hallmark store, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. This weekend marks the debut of the 2012 Hallmark Ornaments, and the store is celebrating with early openings of 8 AM each day. "This is the 40th anniversary of the Keepsake Ornament Club, and this weekend, we show off the premiere of our ornaments (for 2012)," said Woodbridge store Sales Lead Jon Delosreyes. "There are a lot of collectors out there." The event, which is years past has seen eager ornament-buyers line up outside of the store up to a half hour before the early opening, is the first chance to buy first-in-series …

A lifelong Barbie collector explains her fascination with the Princess of Plastic
It's the most wonderful time of the year, and for me, Barbie and Christmas are so closely intertwined I couldn't write a Christmas piece without my favorite doll. If Barbie isn't the ultimate Jersey girl herself with big hair, gorgeous tan, and all those designer clothes, I don't know who is. There was always a Barbie under the tree, until I got to that age where you don't want to get caught with a child's plaything. Now that I'm old enough to know better but still too young to care, she's made a comeback - well, not really. She never quite left since I played with my sister's dolls when no one was looking. When I first moved away from my parents, I got myself a Pilot Barbie, and she helped me through some tough times. Now that I'm settled…
