'Bowl for Hunger' Raises $19K for Food Pantries
Food banks in Woodbridge, Carteret, Perth Amboy, Sayreville, and South Amboy each got $627 to help feed the hungry.
People down on their luck might be a little less hungry if they live in the 19th Legislative District. That's because 'Bowl for Hunger,' a local fundraising crusade to replenish and restock food pantries throughout the local area, raised $19,642 in their third outing, according to Assemblyman Craig Coughlin. Along with Raritan Bay Medical Center in Edison and Middlesex Water Company, Coughlin announced at a press event Friday that the monies raised in the bowling fundraiser would be divided among the 28 MCFOODS-certified food banks in the district, which is comprised of Woodbridge, Carteret, Perth Amboy, Sayreville, and South Amboy.
