Gas Station Bandit Arrested After a Second Hit on an Avenel Gas Station
Woodbridge police arrested Arthur Allen Montague, 27, of Avenel for two different robberies of gas stations, right down the street from where he lives.
A man being held in the Tuesday robbery of an Avenel gas station may be the same robber who held up another Avenel gas station back in December. Woodbridge police arrested Arthur Allen Montague, 27, of Avenel on suspicion of the armed robbery of the BP gas station on Route 1 South on January 15 at 8:13 pm. Police said a white male wearing a black hoodie pulled down around his face appeared at the BP station and confronted the attendant while holding a knife on him. The robber demanded all the attendant's money, plus two cartons of cigarettes grabbed from a box on the floor.
