The Middlesex County Freeholders honored Niketan “Nick” Diora, a Middlesex County College alumnus, who saved a man’s life on a flight from India in February. The man suffered a heart attack and Diora, a fellow passenger, took charge of the situation. The man had lost consciousness and had no pulse so Diora evaluated his condition, opened the man’s shirt and administered the defibrillator. He gave him two shocks; on the second the man regained consciousness. The freeholders also cited the instructor who taugh Diora numerous lifesaving and first aid classes at the College, Rhonda Zampetti. At the April 4 Freeholder meeting, from left: Middlesex County College President Joann La Perla-Morales; Zampetti; Nupur Diora (Nick Diora’s wife), Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios, Diora, and Freeholder H. James Polos.
