With Your Support the Haven for "God's Angles" Might Be Saved!

The following is a re-post of a posting by Antoinette Barile in regard to saving the Woodbridge Developmental Center from closure.

This matter is something that should be of vital interest to those who care about how those with 'special needs' are treated by our local and state elected officials. Everyone should be mindful that, but for the grace of God, there go they or their loved one.

Of equal importance, especially to the residents of Avenel, and Woodbridge Township in general, is what will happen to the Woodbridge Developmental Center property, should it be closed.  To the point, it will most likely go to developers for low cost (affordable) housing.  Now just imagine what that will do to our schools system and local infrastructure, when coupled to John McCormac's 'plan' to develop the old General Dynamic's site into a 500 unit housing complex.  A housing complex that will receive a huge tax abatement through a 'Pilot Program',  which denies the school district tax revenues, while adding to the district's cost of educating the children from the development(s)!

Go to the link to Ms. Barile's heart felt plea to save the Center.  Read her piece and the commentary that follows.  Then go to your telephones and/or computers and contact the governor and your local State Assembly and Senate representatives.  Tell them this 'Haven for God's Angles' is more important to our community and this state than the self interests of politicians and developers!
Governor Christie wants more national exposure, so let us give him some on this important issue.
