One Shovelfull for Another!

As a resident of Woodbridge Township, I am proud of the terrific job our Public Works Department, under the leadership of Mr. Dennis Henry, Director of Public Works, has done to keep this township's roads passable, snow storm after snow storm.  In addition to the departments 'herculean' snowplowing efforts, they still had to handle trash collection, which they also did well.

Owing to the almost unprecedented frequency and depth of the snow storms, huge snow piles were created on every roadway.  Those snow piles turned into big blocks of 'ice'.  Those ice blocks wreaked havoc on the township's snowplowing equipment.  The costs of repairing and/or replacing the damaged equipment  will be a big burden to the township's coffers.

Having seen how poorly the county and surrounding municipalities handled their snow removal during these awful storms, I  must give credit to the McCormac Administration for ensuring this township had both the equipment and manpower to handle these storms. Well done!

When 'old man winter' final leaves, our beleaguered Public Works Department will have to put down their snow shovels and pickup their asphalt shovels.  The repair of all the potholes in the township will be as much of a herculean effort, as was the snow removal!

The next time you have an opportunity to personally thank one of our public works staff for their efforts, please do so.  As I saw this morning, they really appreciate it!  Kudos to the McCormac Administration as well.
