Woodbridge Public Works works 24/7

Some operations and departments never rest.

For the past four days members of the Woodbridge Public Works Department have been working around the clock to repair, I believe, a broken sewer line on Howell Avenue, which is in the Fords section of the township, near the Community Center.

Members of the Woodbridge PD have also been on the scene to direct traffic and to ensure worker and public safety.

About five days ago, water was pushing through a manhole cover on Howell Ave. at a good rate.  That flow continued until Public Works personnel arrived on scene.  Apparently, judging from the amount of water they have been pumping and the size of the strip of Howell that had to be excavated, this is no small rupture in the sewer system.

As of Sunday morning, December 23, the crews are still hard at working on site.

There have been no warnings posted in the area about sewerage blockage or drinking water concerns.

So while residence continue to enjoy their water and sewer systems, and go about their Christmas holiday plans, it is good to know our Public Works Dept and the Woodbridge PD are ensuring our health and welfare.

It is hoped the problem will soon be resolved and that the good men and women of both departments will have some quality time with their friends and family during the Christmas holiday.

Thanks to all for their efforts.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
