Wellness Center Branch Announces Senior Director of Healthy Living

The Gateway Family YMCA – Wellness Center Branch Welcomes Lexy Anderson, Senior Director of Healthy Living

January 2014, Union, NJ – The Gateway Family YMCA – Wellness Center Branch announces the addition of Alexandria Anderson to the staff team in the position of Senior Director of Healthy Living.  “I am happy to announce that Alexandria “Lexy” Anderson has joined The Gateway Family YMCA - Wellness Center Branch as the Senior Director of Healthy Living,” stated Paul Mickiewicz, Wellness Center Branch Executive, “Lexy brings a wealth of experience to our Y.  With strong facility management and program development experience, she is particularly adept at working with members needing extra support, such as cancer survivors.”

 Lexy spent ten years with the Edison Branch YMCA as the Health and Wellness Director and Associate Executive Director where she built a strong Wellness Department in a new branch.  More recently, as the Senior Program Director at the Woodbridge Branch YMCA, she provided leadership to their Wellness Department and Aquatic Department.  With a strong connection to Kean University, Lexy earned a B.S. in Management Science-Accounting then later a B.A. in Physical Education/Adult Fitness, an M.A. in Exercise Science and served as an adjunct professor as well. Along with her strong background in YMCA Wellness she has a passion for the LIVESTRONG program, building strong programs in each of the branches she has worked and is certified through the Cancer Exercise Training Institute as a Cancer Specialist.  Lexy stated, 'I am excited to join the team at the Gateway Family YMCA, and I look forward to helping members achieve their health & wellness goals.'
