New Jersey Senior Olympics Return to Woodbridge

The events will take place in September.

The New Jersey Senior Olympics will return to Woodbridge for the seventh year in a row featuring athletes 50 and over on Sept. 6, 7 and 8.

Registration is ongoing for the Senior Olympics and is open to residents 50 and over both from New Jersey and out-of-state.

Bocce, basketball, archery and mini-golf are just a few of the 18 sports available as part of the competition.

The Olympics are part of the “Mayor’s Wellness Campaign,” which encourages Township residents to get healthy and fit.

Councilman Gregg Ficarra, Chairman of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign, said Woodbridge Township offers senior athletes a true, world-class competition venue.

Events of the Olympics will take place around the township, including the Woodbridge Community Center, Arena’s Skyline Mini Golf Course, The Club at Woodbridge, the Woodbridge Bowling Center, the athletic fields at Woodbridge High School, Warren Park and Woodbridge Center Mall.

The “Opening Ceremonies” for the 2013 New Jersey Senior Olympic Games will take place on Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. outside of the Woodbridge Community Center, the Township stated.
