'Get in the Know About H2O!' Contest Open To Students

Middlesex Water Company, a provider of water, wastewater and related services in New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania is holding a “Get in the Know About H20!” contest for students in grades five through 12. Individual students and/or classes (as a class project) must create a fun and compelling sixty-second presentation. The presentation can be created using PowerPoint, video or audio and must raise awareness about the value of tap water. The entry must inspire the public to “Get In the Know About H20.”     

Prizes include a $200 Amex gift card as first prize, a $100 Amex gift card as second prize and a $50 gift card for the third place winner(s). All winners will receive a certificate and be honored at a luncheon in celebration of National Drinking Water Week in early May.

Students can choose one or more of the following themes for their entry:

A) The role clean drinking water plays in our quality of life, fire protection and in our communities;

B) the dedication of water utility employees who ensure water quality and repair mains in all kinds of weather;

C) The importance of maintaining the vast network of underground pipes to ensure reliability, or

D) The need to use water wisely and protect our drinking water sources from pollution.  

All submissions must incorporate the tag line “Get in the Know about H20” in some way. Judges will consider the originality of message content and thematic approach; creativity in execution, and the persuasiveness of the presentation.
