It's Wednesday, and for , it's carpe diem time.
The 24-year-old sabre fencing athelete will be competing this morning for an Olympic medal at the 2012 Olympics in London.
Wozniak, who is ranked second in her sport in the US and tenth in the world, will be facing Salma Mahran of Egypt on Wednesday, August 1, at 1:30 pm London time (that's 8:30 am, New York time) according to the Olympic schedule. On her Facebook page, though, Wozniak is telling the hometown crowd to watch them a little earlier, at 7:30 am and 7:50 am.
The fencing competition can be seen locally on WNBC.
Wozniak's teammate, Mariel Zagunis, will also be competing in the event.
"The day has final come and I feel ready," Wozniak posted Tuesday night on her Facebook page. "Whatever happens tomorrow, I just want to say that I feel blessed for all the people [who have] helped me get here; without you, I would not have made it this far.
"Thank you for all your support and all your help and advice," she said.
