Woodbridge Kindergarteners Go High-Tech With New Laptops

The Woodridge Township Education Foundation donated funds to purchase 25 laptops.

The Woodbridge Township Education Foundation donated funds for the Board of Education to purchase 25 laptops for kindergarten classes throughout the township, according to a resolution adopted at the June 13 meeting.

The foundation donated nearly $20,000 for the purchase of laptops in order to improve the kindergarten computer classes.

Board Member Daniel Harris acknowledged that since Dr. Zega became superintendent, technology and keyboarding have become a priority for the township schools.

“It’s a vital skill for our elementary kids to learn the skill of typing,” Harris expressed. “It’s a life long skill that they are going to need in the 21st century.”

Board president Ezio Tamburello echoed Harris’ support of the resolution.

“Our elementary parents need to know that this is a very important component to our elementary education going forward,” he said.

Superintendent Dr. Robert Zega presented the resolution to members of the foundation for their continued support of programs.

“They have become a leading supporter of the education programs in the district,” Dr. Zega said in the resolution.  “We extend our sincere gratitude to the education foundation.”
