It was a bit chilly and a lot rainy, but the weather couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of children returning to the first day of school in Woodbridge.
Elementary school children were jumping on buses and waving goodbye to their parents, while others were walking with their chums or being walked to school by adults. Children, teachers, and parents met up on the steps of Ross St. School in the drizzle to say hello to a new school year.
As the sign outside the building said, "Welcome Back!", children jumped over curbs and small puddles and up stairs to make it to their new homerooms on time.
