Woodbridge Athletes Win Awards at MCC

Student athletes from the township were honored by Middlesex County College for their prowess, on and off the field.

Middlesex County College honored its athletes at the annual sports banquet in May.

Athletes from each team received awards, and All Region, All Conference and AllAmerican athletes were awarded their certificates. In addition, wrestler Paul Saraiva won the Vincent DeSario Award for the most outstanding student-athlete at the college, combining athletic ability with academic achievement.

Another major award was for the athletic teams – men and women – with the highest grade point averages; this year they were the softball team and the men’s basketball squad.
