Judge Supports Firing of Suspended Fords Middle School Teacher

James Lang was suspended without pay 20 months ago after tenure charges were brought against him.

A Fords Middle School teacher who was suspended without pay 20 months ago for making sexually explicit comments to female students and staff was appropriately removed from his job, an administrative law judge has ruled.

According to a report on mycentraljersey.com, English teacher James Lang was accused of making a number of inappropriate comments that were sexual in nature to female students and staff.

The complaints against Lang come from the 2003-2004 school year and allege that he flirted with female students and made a number of inappropriate comments toward them, allegedly calling them "whores" and "prostitutes," the report said.

In a decision released on Nov. 29, Judge Tiffany M. Williams declared Lang unfit to teach said the complaints were proof that he “violated all standards of decency” and “contributed to a sexually demeaning environment” with his “grotesque and sexual” behavior," the report said.

His attorney will appeal the decision, according to the report.
