Obituary: Jean C. (Walz) Donato, 73

Jean C. (Walz) Donato, 73, of North Brunswick, died on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, from injuries sustained in a fall at work.

Born in Perth Amboy, the daughter of Matthew and Mae (Davis) Walz, she had resided in the , before moving to North Brunswick 22 years ago. Mrs. Donato was Chief Clerk in the Purchasing Department at for the past 23 years.

Her husband, Robert Arthur Donato, died in 1974. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by three brothers: Raymond Walz, Harold F. Walz Sr., and Norman Walz.

Surviving are her son, Robert P. Donato, and his wife, Jean, of Millville; her daughter,  Christine P. Nelson, and her husband, Mark, of Hampton Falls NH; a brother, Donald Walz of Woodbridge; and five grandchildren: Tyler, Emily, Gunnar, Kirsten and Anika. She is also survived by many friends and co-workers at the Board of Education. Jean will be especially missed by her childhood life-long friend, Eileen Gaissert.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 31, 2012, from 9 am to 11 am at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Route 27) in Metuchen.
