  1. Celebrate local businesses. The Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its 47th Annual Chairman’s tonight at the Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel. The awards honor individuals and businesses in the community. There will be a silent auction starting at 6:00pm as well as a cocktail hour.   2. Enjoy real art. "Starting Again From Zero," an of the works of Perth Amboy illustrator and portraitist Alex Szkola, continues at the Barron Arts Center through Oct. 23. Gallery hours are weekdays, 11 am to 4 pm; weekends, 2 pm to 4 pm. For more information, call 732-634-0413.
  3. Get some care for the caregiver. A to give voice to caregivers of the ill and infirm meets at Robert Wood Johnson Fitness Facility in Scotch Plains tonight from 6 pm to 7:15 pm.   4. Never too early for the holidays - in Cranford, at least. The Cranford PTA is hosting their Annual Live Balsalm .  Place your balsam wreath orders now and be ready for the holidays.   5. More good, free jazz comes your way at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick tonight. The presents Ralph Bowen & the Soul Proprietor Band at 7:30 pm. Bowen, a world renowned virtuoso sax player, is a professor at Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts and has performed with a Who's Who of jazz greats. For more info, call 732-640-0001.
