Experts for the District Will be Appointed at BOE Meeting

A whole slew of financial, environmental, and other experts are on the agenda at tonight's meeting.


The Woodbridge Board of Education will be appointing a whole host of consultants to help run the district for the 2013-2014 school year, according to the Thursday night agenda.

The meeting is scheduled for tonight at 7 pm at Avenel Middle School.

Some of the appointments on the agenda include:

  • Dennis DeMarino, Business Administrator/Board Secretary, as the District Purchasing Agent;
  • The law firm of Schwartz Simon Edelstein & Celso as board attorneys;
  • The firm of McEnerney, Brady and Company for the annual audit;
  • RAMM Environmental Services for professional environmental engineering services;
  • North American Insurance Management Corporation as an employee health benefit insurance consultant and a property and casualty insurance consultant;
  •  Spiezle Architectural Group for architectural, engineering, and planning services;
  • Phoenix Advisors for annual financial advisory services;
  • Luthin Associates for energy and sustainability consulting services;
  • Richard Lorentzen as Treasurer of School Funds for $8,000
  • Wilentz, Goldman and Spitzer P.A. as bond counsel

In addition, Kenneth G. Swan, Jr., MD of Brunswick Orthopedics & Rehabilitation will be appointed as team physician for the district's three high schools at a fee of $5,000. That includes coverage for home football games, wrestling certification, and as a consultant on atheletic injuries. An additional fee of $500 per day and $250 per half day will be charged for special events and tournaments.
