Senator Sam Thompson will be the guest speaker on March 16 at the "Proud to be an American" event starting at 6:30 pm at Fire N Ice in Fords.
The event is geared towards paying tribute to the men and women in the military. Others scheduled to attend are Commander Tom Cunningham of Operation Jersey Cares and Anna Little, candidate for Congress. Operation Jersey Cares is an organization that helps soldiers and Marines -- including those wounded in combat -- who are returning to the U.S. from overseas deployments.
