Attend a Fencing Fundraiser for Angel PAWS

Fencing lessons: fun for the entire family, and it benefits a worthy local animal shelter in Colonia

Angel PAWS, the animal rescue center in the Colonia section of Woodbridge, does a lot with a very little to help abandoned and homeless pets find forever homes.

Now it's your turn to help them do their best work, while having some fun for you and the entire family.

Hub City Fencing Academy, located at 77 New Durham Road in Edison, is holding a fundraiser for Angel PAWS. The fencing institution is having a special two-hour fencing lesson at a mere $25 per person.

The fencing fundraiser will be held on Sunday, February 24, from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Half of the proceeds will go to Angel PAWS. Adults, teens, and children with their parents are all welcome to attend.

The lesson will include instruction on proper ways of stretching, basic posture and footwork, as well as the rules and techniques of the épée weapon and some basic moves. After that, students will have a chance to fence a bout with an opponent.

It's a great introduction to fencing, or if you tried it and want to get back into the Olympic sport, this is an inexpensive opportunity that will also help pets in need.
